And besides, 100,000 over three months is nothing! And it's certainly competitive with what other places require for their second level card. And I'll tellya, the M Resort is a really beautiful place.

Why is everyone being so hard on the M? $100,000 of play can
theoretically earn more than 100 (or whatever 100,000 divided by 850
is) buffets.
Be nice!

I was able to get 42,000 in action in a single day on the quarter and averaged a 104% edge.
So for me it's eight days of work over 3 months for:
1. $12,000 in theo
2. and a free brunch
Hmm...sounds OK to me. I might even be willing to pay for the lunch...na, against my religion. Paying for food could devastate my reputation. What would Jean say???

There are at least 3 lines at the buffet. One is for the suck ...,
ahem, nice people who have to stand in the longest line and, unless
they have earned enough points for the day or have some other way of
avoiding paying, pay. Another is the line pass line. Another is for
Platinum card holders, who bypass both lines. It takes $100,000 of
play in 3 consecutive months to get a Platinum card.

As I have said before I prefer good pay tables over large cash back. The only other game that is barely over 99% is a few 9/7 DB machines. Funny thing is last time I looked at the bonus poker single line in the high limit it was 7/5 at the $2 and $5 level. DB was at 9/6 in high limit as well. Since when did pay tables get worse when the limits were that much higher. This may have changed since I last looked but I doubt it.

[vpFREE] Re: M Progressives
If I lived in LV I would play the progressives when they were over 11,000 coins. It is a decent enough play despite the variance. As long it is games like JOB or BP. When they go to crazy games like "Super Duper Triple Double Wild Red Seven Bonus Deluxe Jokers" my eyes glaze over and I start figuring out the quickest way to get to the Palms.

[vpFREE] Re: VP blowing up? Advantage play soon a thing of the past?
Stick to FPDW. I have been playing for 25 years. Not only have I eeked out a profit I have had more fun, travel, free food, free booze, etc. than any many deserves.
Just keep it to a hobby. You can't and won't "make a living" off it in 2011.
Oh, and play at a relaxed pace and take plenty of breaks.

I immediately gravitated towards vp because I had heard it was a better bet than most games and it was entertaining to me to do the math (just estimates in my head) on which cards to hold, chances of getting the hand I wanted, etc. I've always been mathematically inclined (parents both have math phds) and it was fairly obvious that it was possible to crunch the numbers to see what the *perfect* play was and what the expected return would be for each game and paytable.

I also discovered that there are games with positive EV: this floored me. I scoured multiple casinos in my area and it was the best bet I could find. After a few months and ending up slightly behind when you factor in gas costs and opportunity costs (i.e. not working) I decided that I'm going to try to make a serious stab at this: a trip to Vegas with a bankroll high enough to make ruin nearly impossible on positive EV machines. I don't plan on living there, but rather staying 2-4 weeks so I can even out the volatility a bit.

Are too many players finding out about this due to the wide availability of information forcing Casinos to replace their high ev games with their opposites? (gimmicky ones like supertimespay, 100 hands, spin poker) It's starting to dawn on me that instead of having bad luck, I just naturally find out about these types of opportunities as they reach the general public thus losing their profitability.

From their website, it looks like Railroad Pass has changed their promo.
Appears to now be 3X points on Wednesdays in July and August.
