[vpFREE] Re: Caesar's "My Poker"

So the payback drops from 9/6 250 and the var increases I would guess moving to 8/6 275. Question is by how much.

[vpFREE] Re: W2G - Social security & taxes with a lot signers?

Jeep,

Your gambling income does not affect your Social Security benefits. Your W2Gs may raise the premium you pay for Medicare Part B and Part D. I will post the premiums and income thresholds later.

Chris

[vpFREE] Re: Keno Draw Poker

I'll break this game down some more so everyone can see what they will be dealing with should they decide to take this game on. According to the Wiz, Triple Play Keno Draw Poker with 8/5 Bonus and a ten coin 4-spot returns 99.615%.

All of the keno payscales are set up to be a big drain on the game. They all return around 50%. But they create the multipliers. The ten coin 4-spot has an ER of 50.78%. We can use that number in a hypothetical situation to determine the effect of the multipliers on the 8/5 Bonus payscale.

What would a 25,000 coin wager (a 15,000 coin wager at video poker and a 10,000 coin wager at keno) look like? First we'll multiply the 25,000 coin wager by .99615 to get an expected return of 24,903.75 coins. The 10,000 coin wager has an ER of 50.78% or 5078 coins. So we'll subtract the 5078 from 24,903.75 to get 19,825.75. That's the number of coins the 15,000 coin wager would have to return to put the game at 99.615%. Dividing that number by the 15,000 coins puts the vdieo poker side at 132.17%.

So, in effect, you would be making a 15 coin bet with an ER of 132.17% and simultaneously making a 10 coin bet with a 50.78% return. It balances to an overall return of 99.615%.

I think their Web site used to show their tiers, but I didn't see it

[vpFREE] Jean and Primm casinos?

My wife and I will be doing some sightseeing in Southern California before heading for Las Vegas at the end of February. It looks like it would be best for us to stop overnight before driving to Las Vegas and I was wondering about the casinos/hotels in Jean and Primm.

I looked at the VPFREE2 database and it looks like Gold Strike has better VP for us since we are quarter players. However, I also saw some info about them closing one of their hotel towers and restaurants. Are they still closed?

It looks like the best other choice would be Buffalo Bills in Primm.

Does anyone have any comments on these or other properties around there as far as hotel room quality and VP for quarter players?

Barry

He already has a radio show, can't go back. Next step is a Reality TV show ... about two old guys who have a radio show in Vegas about gambling, think of it like the Vegas version of CarTalk or Prairie Home Companion or the Bob and Ray show:

[vpFREE] W2G - Social security & taxes with a lot signers?

Just went on social security. There were years in past I had close to 100K in signers. I could offset gambling on return then. I am wondering how the term "above line deductions" work, relative to gambling. Gambling loss is entered later on down return. (below the line) Jean Scott has a book on taxes, I will look for that book. My accountant explained how it works. For my piece of mind, I need to understand better.

Agressive players on or near social security should be aware SS check can be lowered when earned income, rent, dividends, interst, sale of property etc. is over a certan amount. That's the way I understand it.

I spent eight months in hospital in 2012. Upon getting loose I signed up. Not wanting to lose checks because of poor health, I signed for social security fast. At least I'll get some checks. I never researched the tax issue. Now I find out it's a complicated thing. Wrong move can cost $$. Bright side, I have way less W2Gs in 2012 (almost none). I'm getting stronger every day. I play vp on extra point days. Vp is rehab for me. I tell doctor that. He doesn't seem to understand.
