[vpFREE] Newbie Wants Comps

Hi all. I'm heading to Vegas and Laughlin on Saturday - yeah! I'm totally new at VP, but have been studying the strategy charts and practicing with Frugal VP software, and spent a few bucks at the local Indian Casino. I'm wondering if my $5,000 budget for the week will be enough to expect any decent comps and then - how do I cash in on those? I know I need to get the player cards and I think I'm supposed to charge everything to my room (right??). Then.... do I ask at the hotel desk when I check out about what might be comped?
Ok, and then if they comp rooms, food, etc. are they taking points off the card? Or is that a separate system? Thanks for the help!!

The last time I needed a car I went into the business services office just off the elevator of the Palace Towers at Caesars Palace. The lady called the rental place (I don't remember which one) and set up my car, and had a shuttle driver pick us up and take us to the rental location. It was cheaper than renting at the airport. I coincided the return with our departure, saving me cab fare back to the airport.

[vpFREE] Re: Bob and Frank's new Progressives for suckers are in

Not knowledgeable, no. But when they get raped by those machines, especially at the $5 a spin level they will be knowledgeable enough to stay away. Huge variance is one thing. Coupled with a barely 96% game I have to wonder if there will be a steady supply of suckers to prop up those meters.
Quarters?--maybe.
Dollars?- I don't think so.
I hope I am proven wrong. Again, I appreciate Frank and "Bob" coming up with this innovation and I hope it works.
Nothing ventured
Nothing gained.

[vpFREE] Casino MonteLago grand opening invites

Got ours today, of the generic (not VIP) variety. The mailer states that 250 points = $1 in cash back, comps or free play but does not mention how much coin-in it will take to earn a point. New sign-ups who earn one point win "up to $500 in free slot play when you join Club MonteLago during our grand opening weekend." It doesn't specify if you need the mailer; I assume it's available to all. I'm also assuming, since they mailed me and know that I was previously a club member, that everyone gets to "start over" as a new sign-up with the new owners, but that's just my impression. It does say that you have to earn one point during the grand opening, but you have to go back between May 31st and June 6th to find out how much you won.

Re: [vpFREE] XVP -- Car Rentals LV

All MGM properties have dollar rental cars. Prices are comparable to renting at
the airport but fees may be less.

Re: [vpFREE] XVP -- Car Rentals LV

There are places on the strip where major car rental companies have set ups. From my experience it will cost more to rent it on the strip. ON the other hand, I have rented at the airport for the first few days we were staying off the strip and then turned it in at Treasure Island (forget which company) when we got to the strip for the rest of the week  and it was the same rate as though I had picked up and dropped it off at the airport.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Bob and Frank's new Progressives

Couldn't you say that all slot players are ploppies? When I see all those people on slot machines, I just shake my head?

So I'm on my way to swipe for multiplier and play at the M. Figure somebody has to pump those meters up. If anyone makes any comments about my new job as a ploppy, you'll lose the service.

If I'm lucky, I won't hit it.

Just remember to thank me later.

[vpFREE] Re: LVRJ: Herbst Gaming announces name change to Affinity Gaming

In related news, Obama has announced that the United States of America will be changing its name to the Divided States of Embarrassment. He is confident that this change will solve all of our current problems.

And Harrah's can change its name all it wants... it'll always be "The Dark Side" (or "The Evil Empire" if you prefer).

lol, ok sarcastic rant is done now. Thanks, I feel better.

[vpFREE] Re: Palms Chairs

Yes, those are the torture devices of which I speak :)

I was really tempted to push the service button, sit back in my seat, stretch out my arms and ask how I was suppose to deal :)

Truly, even a very, very tall person long armed person could not sit correctly (using the seat back) in the chair and reach the machine.

The point is, TDB has ridiculously high variance. Also he never
said specifically full pay TDB.

This is in response to your statement: "With horrible variance no one
knowledgeable will play these games at 97%....or 98% or 99% for that
matter."

You were replying to a discussion about ploppies not playing the new
progressives at the M. First off, do you consider ploppies knowledgeable?
Second, given that people play TDB, full pay or otherwise, your statement
is empirically wrong.

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes. I was mugged coming out of a comped suite at the Palms after the Playmate of the Year party. All my listeners question were stolen and I now have no interesting things to answer on my radio show.

If you could please help out in any way, send your questions to:

Only 9/7 TDB is 99.5 which is a rare pay table nowadays. It is also a ridiculously volatile game.
