Thanks for your report from the Cosmopolitan. I've been there a couple of times but haven't stayed in their rooms. I found the casino to be very modern and tres chic, not like Bellagio and Wynn which seem warm with all their brown and red tones.
I am impressed by this gimmick in their parking garage. Every parking space has a little light over it that is red if there's a car there or green if it's empty. That way you can easily look down a whole row and see if there are any open spaces.
I also saw that one SpinPoker near the lounge bar (Book and Stage Bar) on my first visit but it wasn't there today. Looks like they have removed some of the video poker from that area. Of course if they have server-based gaming, and I think they do, machines can be changed frequently and easily.

[vpFREE] Re: Pick up a quarter in a casino... goto jail....
It's my personal policy too. I never thought about it before, as I never found anything. However, when my wife lost her coin purse in The Mirage with $1,200 dollars in it, I was happy that it was turned in and she got it all back.
Since then, I have found a wallet with $800, a VERY expensive diamond bracelet, and several tickets worth upwards of $100. I turned them all over to security with the hopes that they find their owner.

This was on last weeks webcast and the word "machines" was used. The quote "more than 10,000 machines paying over 99%" is verbatim from the March 17 webcast.

You don't understand why getting taxed without income is newsworthy?
Interesting!
In that case I'd like to borrow some money from you at 10% interest (to you) compounded daily.
I hope you realize I'm just being funny. I'm sure what you meant is that it's not hard to believe the government is flawed and greedy. No argument there.

[vpFREE] Re: Bob Dancer's comment about higher stakes play
You took the words right out of my mouth. I wrote a rebuttal article to the one Bob did on stress. I believe he's going to use it next week.
My criteria for declaring something "a play" was a 2% edge. This way one could run a little bad and still make money.
Bob would argue that this is no longer possible. I would agree, all the progressives I've played this year were at least 4% edges.
As long as you are happy with a 90/10% scouting to play ratio, it's still possible to get some good overlays.
Bob & I are very different in precisely the same way.

It was our Slot Team's policy for all players that any money found in a casino had to be turned in to security, or a floor-person if it was credits.
My Mother once found a purse in the bathroom with $8,000 in cash and got it safely back to it's owner. Of course she wasn't working for us at the time, and just did it because that's how she was. She also declined the reward.

I have to agree that the Fiesta Henderson has a much nicer atmosphere. Not as much smoke hanging in the air, as they improved the circulation when they put the new addition on the building.
As for traffic. If you are at the airport and renting a car, get the car, ask directions for 215 East. Get on and head due East, it will take you directly to Fiesta Henderson. Don't take Las Vegas or Boulder exit, continue on where it says the freeway ends. Fiesta H. will be on the right. They have full pay .25 games.
From there, you can get on 15 heading North and Sunset Station is just a few miles up the freeway. Or, you will pass Green Valley Station on your way East from the airport. Stations has you covered on the East/North freeways. You can also get to Cannery East from Boulder Hwy. without going on freeway. Head due East from Fiesta on Lake Mead, take a left on Boulder highway and you will find the Cannery. Whichever area you decide to play, good luck and enjoy!
Cheers!

[vpFREE] Bob Dancer's comment about higher stakes play
In his last article he was discussing "stress", and in it he mentioned that $5 and up players would be thrilled to get a half percent edge, and frequently a quarter percent is higher than they can find.
I cannot tell you the many times when I have left my WinPoker running on high speed simulation and come back an hour later and it's run some several gazillion hands. The FPDW were still there a few weeks ago, so I believe most, if not all, of the machines listed are still there.

[vpFREE] Gambling With an Edge Mar 24th
Well we are finally catching up on all your questions.
We'll be doing my third installment of Team Training Techniques and covering Type I errors. That's good old fashion strategy errors for those of you that missed the introduction to TTT.
I've already gotten great feedback about last week's show where I covered how to fix miscues.
If you missed the introduction to TTT let me restate, most of the training techniques the team used were created by my Mother, a world class dance instructor, not me. A couple of people have thanked me for "my system"...wish that were true. Wish my mom was still with us to. Please give the credit where it's due, I'm just the messenger.
We'll also be having on an Independent Host to tell you about what they can do for you.
Our Live Air-Time is: 7 PM Thursday nights on KLAV Talk-Radio 1230am In Las Vegas. You can listen live a: http://www.klav1230am.com/
Cheers,

[vpFREE] Re: Frank Kneeland-Will you PLEASE correct the Southpoint false advertising?
I don't do the casino commercials, Bob does. So I'm not really sure why you addressed this to me. Anyway here is Bob's reply.
FROM BOB:
The webcast talks of more than 10,000 GAMES over 99% payback. You seem to be confusing this with MACHINES. They are not the same. If one machine has 8/5 Bonus, 9/7 Double Bonus, 9/6 Jacks, and NSU Deuces for 25 cents, 50 cents, $1 and $2, this counts as 16 games over 99% --- although only one machine.
I write the ads myself and read them on the air. The text definitely says GAMES, although it's conceivable I misspoke and said MACHINES. On what particular date(s) do you think this error occurred?
The South Point (which is the correct spelling --- not Southpoint) has been claiming "more than 10,000 games returning more than 99%" for more than a year. Those of us who have been in the place know that. I don't think the distinction between GAMES and MACHINES is too subtle for most players --- although your post indicates that this isn't true for everyone. I apologize for confusing you.
