Re: [vpFREE] Photography Rules...

My last trip to Las Vegas I wanted to potentially take pictures
of the VP I was planning on paying.

I had found a few machines that had very nice payback percentages
at the Rio and thought I would check with Security first.

I went up to the guy at the front entrance Security booth and told
him what I was up to and that I wanted to shoot some pictures of
pay table and hopefully Jackpots.
He smiled and said, "Go right ahead".

I followed up with an explanation of why I asked:
'I heard sometimes Casinos don't like people taking pictures.'

He said as long as I wasn't taking pictures of the Cashier's cage
or long videos of the overall Casino, they didn't mind at all.

He further told me that it was totally fine to take pictures of my
own action or jackpots, even pay tables.

He wasn't concerned at all, and very relaxed about it and paid
more attention to his computer screen and the traffic around me.

Ask first is never a bad idea.

[vpFREE] Re: NV Casino "bleeds" high progressive?

The higher the progressive gets, the more there's a frenzy of people playing faster and making more mistakes in an attempt to bag the big prize before the other gamblers. That's why the progressives with quarter percent meter rates and less are jokes both for players and casinos, they never generate the frenzy. Any casino with 9-6 double double bonus should have a 2% royal progressive with 8-5 double double bonus, both games have about the same theoretical hold for the casino, but the progressive will generate much more action because of the frenzy it creates. Many dummy slots have 2% or greater meter rates for the same reasons, the slot manufacturers know this generates play.

A good meter is just one of the most beautiful things in video poker.  On a bank of 10 to 20 $ machines that get decent action...  I've seen well over $400 a day.
