The higher the progressive gets, the more there's a frenzy of people playing faster and making more mistakes in an attempt to bag the big prize before the other gamblers. That's why the progressives with quarter percent meter rates and less are jokes both for players and casinos, they never generate the frenzy. Any casino with 9-6 double double bonus should have a 2% royal progressive with 8-5 double double bonus, both games have about the same theoretical hold for the casino, but the progressive will generate much more action because of the frenzy it creates.
