Is the love of the smell of a smoky casino that much better to you than the smell french fries and ketchup?

The Gold card gives you full RFB at all the Downtown Boyd properties for 2 people. For dinners I would suggest the Redwood Grill and the 2nd street Grill. You just present your card when you get the bill and then sign for your meal. I'm surprised that you are getting a Gold card on your first stay, you must have given them some serious play prior.
The worst steak I ever had was at the Redwood Grill. It was not edible.

Thank you for the info and restaurant suggestions. Very interesting...
We usually spend a few hours at MSS when we visit LV, but we have never stayed there. I actually have no idea how much CI we did on our last visit last year. I don't recall any outstanding wins there, so I can't imagine that our CI was anything extraordinary. Husband and I play on same card - mainly 25c single line, with some 3/play and STP.
We have no MSS host, but we had received a mail offer for "Complimentary 4 night stay and FREE MEALS." When I called to book it, I asked what FREE MEALS meant. I was told we would be given a gold card for food.
So who knows? Maybe the reservationist did not know what our offer actually entails. I'll report back after our visit.

Does anyone know how the Gold dining card works at Main Street Station? We will be making our first stay there soon.

Hi there Miss
I cautiously tend to agree with you. Going back to beginning of triple, five and ten play there was always, in my mind, an anomaly. In the old days it was very common for one draw to produce a double of one card with another stranger. Example, 7c 7c 10 or As As 5. I remember playing at bar Stardust 3 play and getting 4 royals on one $1 machine, an enjoyable day. ( two royals on 4 roy draw catching two and 2 royals on 1 line) I've played a lot of 5 play too. But unless i'm bankrolled real good I don't play much $1 5 play. Las Vegas Hilton use to have a 10 play quarter machine. When the cb was good I liked that play. Sometime I'd drive over there special to play that and the NSUD. The point is: like you I have played a lot of vp. I have always thought them fair, till last few years.
Unlike you, I suspect the 3 plays also. I believe there are many different versions of same games. I don't think casinos have a grand plan to change anything. But, can we trust the manufacturer? If I ran a casino and manufacturer came in with the latest and the greatest saying the new generation of game will earn more, I'd jump on it. Any reason could be used to justify better earning, super random, faster deal etc. In addition, how is random test run? Lets face it. If manufacturer gets caught doing some thing wrong, it's probably a big fine. So what......It's just the cost of doing business.
How do I cope? I play multi line selectively. I'm too lazy to do a personal study and if I think I caught something it ain't worth my time to TRY and do something. By the way,no regular royals lately for me. My last two royals in about 8 months were dealt royals. One 5 play, one 3 play. Also got 2 delt As kicker 3 play and dealt As and drawing 3 kickers on 5 play.. I sort of have felling theres more dealt pat hands than should be, but that is not a strong feeling.
BOTTOM LINE....... If I think there is something wrong, I don't play.
Have a good one......Jeep

I'm getting s different edge than your fig, neo. If the RF is at 3000/coin, a 6/5 5c JOB game has a 100.44% payback. With the 0.4% cashback, it's 100.84%.
Also, I calc the Var of a 1-unit bet with this payout schedule to be 226, a little smaller than your fig. For a bet of 5 nickels, the Var is 14.
Using my figs, the hourly EV including .4% cashback would be $1.67. The Kelly bankroll for the game is $6000, so you'll have to look for a smaller game if your bankroll drops below $6K!
"NO", the number of hands you need to play to be about 5/6 sure of being ahead at all, is 3,200,000. That's a daunting 4000 hours of play.
All of my figs ignore the fact that the RF jackpot is growing, but I don't think it will affect the figs much.
I found the distribution of results after a 10-hour day of play to be interesting:
1. You would virtually never win between $1 and $400.or between $800 and $1000, BUT you WOULD win between $400 and $800 16% of the time!
2. Most of the time (79%) you'd lose between $1 and $200.
3. 3% of the time you'd lose between $200 and $400, but almost never more than $400.
4. 2% of the time you'd win over $1000, which must be the times you hit 2 RF's during the 10 hours.
The reason you almost never win between $1 and $400 is that if you don't hit an RF, you're playing a game that's worse than 94%. No amount of small-hand luck can over come that. If you DO hit an RF, you get a $750 boost to bankroll, hence the 16% of the time that you end up between +$400 and +$800.
The reason you almost never lose more than $400 is that you would only be betting $2000 total in the 10 hours. It's tough to lose over 25% of your total coin-in over that many hands.

Local casino upped the 6/5 5c JOB Progressive to start at $750 (15000 coins). The Variance is 287. This makes it a 101.68% Game 24/7 minimum, not counting the .4% slot club bonus which makes it a 102.08% game. How much would you play this? EV is $4.16 / hour. based on 800 hands an hour. Of course this goes up as the Progressive increases. There is a bank of 4 machines. Would you continue to play after the Progressive hit, or would you wait until it got up to say $800?
