Interesting article - so Joe M ruined the VP at RIO, then he ruined VP at
Hard Rock, and now ruined VP for the quarter player at Palms and soon for
 all denominations !

I doubt I'll make it to the 22nd century, but the new OpVP 3 is a big
advance over all previous VP programs by actually training correct play
according to the strategy chart of your choice. When you make an error,
it highlights the best hold and your hold in the chart, tells you the
immediate cost of the error, and the long-term per-hour cost if you make
the same error every time the situation occurs.

Do you play progressives? Did you know the "break even" strategy yields
the lowest cost of a royal? OpVP calculates that, too. It also allows
you to work with a "basic" strategy (no penalty considerations) or apply
the penalties of your choice to the chart.

Available for Windows (2000 through Win 7), Mac OS X (10.2 through Lion)
and Linux (most Linux systems). Free demo downloads and discount prices
 are available on my website.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Info when you cash a ticket
<<As an educational exercise (assuming you're not already dealing with large W2-G amounts), take your most recent 1040 form, add say $200,000 to the line for gambling winnings on the front page of the form, and deduct the same $200,000 as an itemized deduction. Recalculate you tax liability. Pay careful attention to the various line items that are affected, limited, or deleted entirely by your suddenly much higher "income". You'll see why netting out is not allowed.>>

This was a good example. Another one, for someone who perhaps has fewer W-2G's AND does not ordinarily itemize, may be even more illuminating. Perhaps a dollar player may get 3 or 4 royals a year - or use any number you want as your gambling income - and then see how that hurts!!!!

[vpFREE] Re: IGT Video Blackjack Scam?
What Glitch?? If they're looking for credits left on the machine they
would show no matter what game is on the screen or for that matter
they would show it only the game menu was showing. No, they're
looking at the last blackjack hand on the screen. Whatever that hand
is determines if they sit down to play their quarter or not. And then
why play only the one hand. They'll check every machine with BJ on it
and then start all over again and do the same circuit. Oft times
there will be two or more that will discuss at length the hand showing
and then decide to play their one hand or not. Of course that
discussion is in an unfathomable language. So I don't see any glitch
in the machine. They lose that hand as often as not.

RE: [vpFREE] MATH Question----3 Card Poker
52!/46!6! = (52*51*50*49*48*47)/(1*2*3*4*5*6) = 20,358,520. In IL, the regular lotto is 6 out of 52 which is exactly the same as getting 6 specific cards out of a 52 card deck. The IL lottery shows the odds as 1:10,179,260 since you get two picks for a $1 play. ( You cannot buy a 50c lotto play in IL.)

1 in 20,358,520. Number of players makes no difference.

Game is offering a million dollar prize with getting a 6 card DIAMOND royal
between your three cards and the dealers 3 cards. There can be up to 6
players on the table. What are the odds of gettting this and does the number
of players make a difference ?

[vpFREE] Re: Video Poker Software for the 22nd Century
You win, Nudge. Not that city boy, Bob Dancer. The rest of vpFREE folks can study your post and see if they can come up with an answer. But you hit the nail on the head.

Found six more machines at the Plaza today with 99%+ games...25c/50c/$1 9/7 DB.

Also saw several banks with 25c/50c/$1 9/6 DDB and 98.91% DW44 (Ugly Deuces).

I'll report what I found today to vpFREE2.com.

Bob, I love you city folk, your answer is on the right track. But it is not precise. There are no weeds on freshly plowed ground.
