[vpFREE] Re: Down $10k on a 100% .25 denom vp game

I just set up the same details you're working with and ran four quick simulations of a million hands each.  In EACH sim, the bankroll took a dive of 40,000 or more coins.  At quarters, that was at least a $10K downswing each time.  Four out of four.  Of course, the return is only 100.14%, so it's a 100% game, that is true, but that's all it is.  I didn't add any cashback.

[vpFREE] Re: Poll results for vpFREE

I find the poll results to be about what I would expect considering that very, very few video poker players keep track of their actual results. Since we are encouraged to keep good records in order to be winning players, it follows that players who don't keep records are more likely to be losing players (and can't answer the poll at least not accurately). Therefore, the poll shows more winners than losers.

BTW We aren't "required" to answer the polls here, just "expected" to do so. But internet forum members are notorious for ignoring forum rules anyway.

From: "Bob Dancer bobdancervp@hotmail.com [vpFREE]"

I personally find the results of these polls amusing.

We are all "required" to participate in all polls --- and yet only a few dozen do. There is apparently no penalty for not doing what is required here.

And boy, are vpFREE members winners! If the results reported were anywhere near accurate, casinos would be scrambling to shut this hotbed of AP players down.

In any group this size, losing players will far outnumber winning players. But you won't find that on these polls. Our results show we are WINNERS!

Yay for us!

Re: All gamblers are winners, LOL, was Re: [vpFREE] Poll results for vpFREE

NOTI, you have me laughing out loud.  I'm a binge drinker, not an everyday drinker.  I go weeks between binges.
But when I uncork it I wouldn't advise you or anyone else to stand at the bar and try to go shot for shot with me. You won't out drink me and you will have a very bad hangover the next morning.

Even though I love to uncork it I still have a modicum of discipline.  I never touch the stuff on roads trips.  Not even at night with a meal.  I'm all business on road trips. I only pull the cork out when I'm at home with not a whole lot to do.  So it's easy for me to walk over to the bar next door for  beers and shots.

Its a destructive habit.  I couldn't tell you how much its cost me in lost productivity in the past.  Especially in Nevada..  I never reached my full potential as an AP because of the booze.  But I'm an independent agent so the only one it was me.

Also, the $500 a day thing has gone by the wayside. Conditions have changed and it's down to about $300 a day for the forseeable future.  Oh well, I guess I'll have to cry in my beer....and shot. LOL!

LOL! I think the only one really winning anything on here is Mickey Crimm, and that's just because he's smart, and not greedy. He gets up every morning at dawn, hungover or not, and hits the casinos until he gets his daily $500, usually before noon. Then he cashes out before he can raise any heat and hits up margaritaville where he enjoys the good life until the sun comes up on another day, and he starts his daily routine all over again. Of course this could just be the Mickey Crimm you hear about in the railyards and cathouses and not the real one, but who knows the truth anymore.

[vpFREE] Re: Reno Tahoe transport

As I believe someone else has written, the complimentary round-trip airport transportation is only for the Annual Retreat.

For other trips you should ask your host because, with a record of sufficient play, you may qualify for a complimentary transportation benefit.  (And, as others have written, it's frequently less expensive just to take a cab by the time you factor in a driver gratuity -- for which many people tend to be excessively generous.)

Just don't assume your transportation is complimentary.  Get something in writing. . .and still check your monthly statement to be sure you weren't charged.

Finally, the 50-mile limit is no longer an issue since the complimentary transportation benefit is applicable only to the annual retreat.
