From Stanford Wong, an AP primarily recognized as a blackjack player. To "Wong in" is to watch and wait until the count goes positive and then jump in to the game and make big bets... eliminating any casino advantage by only making advantageous bets. Gamblers will use "wong" to describe many situations in which you are jumping into a game at an advantage and leaving when the advantage does.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Ca regulations

If you actually know someone in Nevada Gaming, you'll find that strict regulation and enforcement is mostly a concept only. It's mainly based on trust on all ends. I doubt Calif. is any different, esp. with all those Indian casinos.

They should have been checking the return of the machine, but that could have still been favorable for the casino if players weren't betting max or were using the wrong strategy or making play mistakes or playing other games other than the one with the overlay. They may not have been checking the return of individual machines, instead just checking a bank of machines, and the bank may have been favorable for the casino. And maybe 100%+ games are prohibited in California and elsewhere, but what's the penalty? There is none. Name me a casino anywhere that's been fined for having a 100%+ game? There are plenty of examples of casinos that have been fined for cheating or violating civil rights. Is it also prohibited for state lotteries to go over 100%+ return?

There are plenty of free alcoholic beverages at CA casinos. You just have to be invited to an event to get them. Saw a lady so loaded at Agua Caliente's Super Bowl Party she spent the entire game guzzling out at the bar and greeted every male passerby with a shout and a whistle. The bar itself actually had good brands on the shelf, i.e. Patron which was a great value being complimentary compared to the food itself, the usual hot dogs, chips, etc.

Pala usually has a "high end" cocktail party monthly inside of high limit with complimentary premium call brands as well and much better food. But, strangely enough, the New Years Eve party in two weeks includes no drinks at all.

Man, I'd invest in a pup tent and a sleeping bag.

I guess it was a programming error but it was there for over 3 years (probably longer that is just how long I played it) and paid out many times a day. I just don't see how management can't know about something like this. So if they aren't allowed to have 100% plus games, and somebody from gaming is supposedly regulating them, how does something like this slip by? That bar is much less crowded these days.....

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Ca regulations

Mississippi gaming regulations will not allow 100% plus VP.  However, I do think the progressive is allowed to exceed 100% if it should reach that point. Hey, at least they do have comp drinks.

What I find funny about "CA Regulations" is they cannot have 100%+ VP and comp drinks, but its ok to smoke. It seems like the "reservation" just chooses whatever rules are beneficial for the business. They can get away with this since they essentially have a local monopoly.

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 17 DEC 2012

LVA Question of the Day - 17 DEC 2012

Q: In reference to the Summerlin Bloomingdales (actually
Macy's/Dillards) question: How is the mall NOT in Summerlin?
I know the borders can be a bit nebulous but everything I
see shows it is firmly in Summerlin Centre, a Summerlin
Village. Are you also saying Red Rock Resort is not in
Summerlin?
