Not late, Scott. I've known about the game for years. But it wasn't out when I moved to Montana 8 years ago. I've just kept my mouth shut about it. I don't think the earning potential would be that great in a spot with a lot of hustlers in it. But I think it would be like extra cashback in spots where there aren't so many wiseguys.

Re: [vpFREE] Not getting offers from recent trip - Vegas.

Makes sense to me. But one has to be careful.
Pennsylvania requires a valid government picture ID , except in rare cases of folks that have religious reasons on photos or some other rare reason. If you win a drawing that "must be present to win" and have a valid ID & players card, a mismatched address on player card and ID might be knockout. Not sure on that one. But, In Pa folks have won drawings and had an expired driver license. Expired license is not valid ID. Therefore, no drawing win even if everyone in the place knows who you are. If a slot person pays a regular with a expired driver license, they could be fired. Have a close friend who almost lost his job because of. Of course, Vegas and AC are reasonable jurisdictions. In Pennsylvania it's all about skinning the casino and customers for taxes.

Ya gotta know whats going on at all times.

Cheers.....Jeep

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Medicare shocker coming 2016 (due to gambling income)

It's a shame. There is no gambling casino slot that has a theoretical long term loss. Makes no sense to give a W2G win statement to get money back for an amusement game. Taxes were paid on money inserted in machine. All player is getting, is his money back. It's an old rule that should be abolished, especially since gambling is all over country.

State lottery numbers? Put up a $1000 and hit a 3 digit number for $3 play and you pay taxes. Net theoretical win, negative 50%. makes no sense.

Just one persons opinion......Cheers

Mickey came to the party on this one a little late. The buzzards started when the game first came out. Along with the scam artists.

I used to do it myself if there were machines around me with that game on it, as opposed to hunting for them, but I stopped bothering about a year ago. I found that the leftovers are few and far between these days, and the effort doesn't pay off any more. I must admit though that a few times I found so many multipliers left on a game, that I couldn't get my money in fast enough to play it off.

As occurs most of the time these kinds of plays are posted here as a matter of historical observation, as opposed to something you can use too much today, but it is still a good lesson on learning to be aware of what might be out there, and to always be observant.

A.P.

I've watched the "vultures" at work many times, in various locations. I've never seen any of them put money in and play. Perhaps there just aren't multipliers left? I know I'm going to feed my machine again before I'd ever walk off a leave anything greater than 2-3X on one line.

Recognizing the better odds when the multiplier IS found, it sure seems like a long shot at making any real profit. But it seems to entertain quite a few people.

[vpFREE] Ultimate X Video Poker

I may get some flak for this as I'm sure some of you already know and probably wouldn't like the whole world to be clued in on it. The game is not in my market and I have no vested interest in keeping quiet about it. I've never played the game but have read extensively about it. Vulturing Ultimate X Video Poker is the most prevalent AP play in the video poker world these days. The game is multi-denominational and comes in 3,5 and 10 play. The max bet is 10 coins and you are awarded multipliers on the next game for making certain hands in the current game. The biggest multiplier is 12X.

The AP play is to go through all the games and denominations looking for multipliers left by the previous player. You don't have to worry about payscales. Even if you were to find just one 2X multiplier on a ten play and the game is only 94% you would have over a 3% advantage by betting just 5 coins per line for one game then cashing out. The advantages with bigger multipliers are much bigger than that. The best advantage you could find would be 12X on all ten lines of a ten play.

Again, the max bet is 10 coins per line and it's the 10 coin bet that creates the multipliers. But vulturing the game you want to bet just 5 coins per line for one game then cash out.

Good luck to those of you who are just now aware of the game.

It is my understanding that the newly passed budget deal will have some provisions that will lessen the impact that would have happened otherwise.

If your total income is going to be substantially less in 2016 than in
2014, you can write an appeal letter explaining your circumstances. When my
husband retired a couple of years ago, our Medicare payments were going to be
based on his previous salary putting us in the highest bracket. We
appealed saying retirement meant new income of less than $170,00/year. They
granted our appeal and have been paying lowest amount ($104.90) since. Now
it's a problem trying to keep those MAGI numbers down with W-2G's coming in
for our favorite new hobby.
