And they will rudely scream that in your face, if you ask why the multiplier advertised on the sign out front is not available to you on the kiosk. I think next time I'll scream back in their face, "We luv locals, not!"

Been a long time since we have heard from you, John! Good to read your take on the new "D". Now, everytime I hear the name I will think first of you, then Abbott and Costello.
Cheers!

"The D"???
I suppose they are the experts, but....this new name sounds like an Abbot
and Costello routine to me:
"I heard Fitzgerald changed its name. What's it called now?"
"D".
"The what?"
"The D".
"The the what?"
"No, the D".
"Are you stuttering?
"No, it's just D...as in Detroit."
"What's a troit?"

Most new member sign-up bonuses are just $5 or a t-shirt.
If you're downtown, the Plaza/Las Vegas Club have one of the better free play promos for new sign-ups.
Loss rebates are currently at the Cosmopolitan, Palms, Tropicana and Eastside Cannery. Some require a future visit to pick up all the rebate, but they may still be worth it if you can't get all the installments.
Rules should be on the casino websites for all the above.

Cherish it folks. This doesn't happen often anymore. good old Fashioned Lodestone satire! For you youngsters, this was the way it was in the "olden days" - before people obsessed over game codes and the like....

[vpFREE] Trop Bogus Promotion, Part Deux
Hi Gang:
After all the moaning and groaning I did about the so-called bogus "Double
Your Offer" promotion that the Tropicana in Atlantic City was offering, our
story turned out to have a very happy ending.
Hedy and I took a break in our day recently and drove over to the Trop to
finish off the second half of our $300 freeplay offer. We brought along a
friend who we figured could help us put the required two points on my card
so we could download the remaining $150 from the promotion.
The three of us sat down at a row of penny slot machines and started
playing. I started to play some kind of barnyard game at 5 cents a line for 9
lines. Hedy played a more traditional three-reel machine and our friend Kim
started to play one of those zig-zag, multi-line games that gets me dizzy
when I look at it.
We all had some success with hits here and there, but then Kim's machine
got red-hot. She hit a number of small jackpots, one for $40 or so, and
quickly had built her original $20 investment to over $80.
After about 45 minutes of play, we had put the required points on my card
and when all three of us cashed out, our original $60 investment had grown
to $136!
We downloaded the $150 on a video poker machine and Hedy started to play
9/6 DD at the 50-cent level. As she made a hit here and there ... a full
house or flush, for instance ... we cashed out the ticket and started to
accumulate them. Then, suddenly, she was dealt three aces. She held them, hit
the draw button and, guess what, up popped the fourth ace for a $400 hit!
After all was said and done, we totaled up all our tickets and cashed out
$696!
So, the "bogus promotion" that I had complained about so openly wound up
netting us over $700!
Ya never know!!
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 14 MAR 2012
LVA Question of the Day - 14 MAR 2012
Q: Regarding the 2-10-2012 QoD concering the Hilton sign: I
recall reading many stories through the years where it is
stated that virtually all Las Vegas casino signs are made by
YESCO (Young Electric Sign COmpany), and their manufacturing
contracts are written in such a way that YESCO is the
permanent owner of the sign. I recall that the YESCO
"salvage" yard is 10 times as large as what the Neon Museum
has, and is several miles outside of town. Is there any
truth to this?
