[vpFREE] GWAE

Bob Nersesian was an awesome guest last night. His number is on my cell phone in case I get into any gambling legal trouble. In the show he suggested that all players read Grosch vs Tunica http://bj21.com/advantageplay/lawandtaxes/patronabuselinks_docs/SDOC6643.pdf
which is a legal case involving failure to show ID.

I meant to ask Nersesian about the vpFREE quote from 007 related to citizen arrests being illegal if the person is eventually determined to be not guilty. I asked him pre-show about it and he said, "absolutely, when you're talking about misdemeanors." We didn't get half-way down our list of questions on the air, and this was one of the things that didn't get asked. He says he's willing to come back soon and often, so Munch and I are trying to schedule him for some time in September. (I accidentally embarrassed him by asking him what a particular law was in Nevada --- and he wasn't positive off the top of his head. My question wasn't meant to be a toughie or in any way mean-spirited --- he just blanked on the answer. We all laughed it off and kept going.)

Next week's guest is Vinnie DeCarlo, author of "How to Beat Casino Surveillance: An Insider's Secrets for Card Counters" Although the book is for blackjack players --- including those using a lot of techniques stronger than mere card counting, I'll be asking him questions related to video poker surveillance.

If gambling is an important part of your life, you should really consider listening to the show --- either live or via download on bobdancer.com. Our guest list has been awesome --- and we expect this to continue.

Bob

[vpFREE] Gambling with an Edge - Last Night was a Tough Choice

I had options last night. I could listen to the rest of the presidential debate on television, or I could listen to Gambling with an Edge over the internet. TOUGH CHOICE!

Last night's show had to be one of the all-time best interviews yet. Bob Nersesian was great! Do not miss listening to the archives if you missed it last night. Nersesian gave much excellent advice as to how to handle yourself when confronted with Casino Security goons who want to "back room" you. Time was limited and I'm sure they could have gone on much longer. Hopefully Nersesian will return as a repeat guest in the future. He was really good. Much more interesting than Newt Gingrich!

BOB NERSESIAN FOR PRESIDENT!

Wedsite with quite a list of educational lectures/illustrations. Some in this group (like me) may be interested in the Brain Teasers, and site is useful if you have to tutor a child or grandchild in numerous subjects or refresh your own knowledge.

LVA Question of the Day - 12 AUG 2011

Q: Did there used to be a gas station where The Mirage
and/or Treasure Island now stand, until the early '90s?
I swear I can remember filling up there, in August 1990!

[vpFREE] Re: ramblings on the VP player and his/hers toys

Everyone that has commented has emphasized the technical aspects such as
the support tools in books or software. That's how I learned too but there's
always exceptions. I've had the pleasure of knowing a few people who didn't
need these tools to win. What they knew you don't get in books or software
-- It's the ability to recognize situations with an edge and how to take
advantage of it.

This often meant that you don't beat a casino straight up because it was a
multi-part play and/or required participation over a period of time. One
person was a so-so vp player & never played close to technically correct &
not a genius but understood what was needed to do well in drawings &
promotions to the extent that results were much better than average.

In forums like this, you have a lot of people micro-analyzing the technical
nuances & everyone jumps on the bandwagon when the bottom line is:

Can you beat it with a good enough edge?

We make a similar jump off the deep end when we select our tools/toys based
on number or cost. It's not the number or cost that's important but the
usability index or:

How often do you use it?

As you get more experience, you recognize that you don't always have time
to do precise analysis so you fall back on experience & interpolate or
extrapolate as needed.

You have to understand there are some math wizards out there that can
figure out problems on the fly with just a small pocket calculator or do the
math in their head. I met some pretty incredible people out there that are
geniuses. This guy may not need "special" software for the games he plays.
The challenge for him is figuring plays on the fly.

"Follow the hustler" is one of my old tried and true strategies. The Australians are our allies, Frank, so I'll quit picking on them. But in friendly rivalry, I'll take the American hustlers over the Australian hustlers. I think we can beat them on experience alone.

[vpFREE] Re: The Best of GWAE Show Closes by FK

I'm not sure what you are doing, so it's difficult to know what the issue is. You right click on the hyper link entitled "Closes" and then save it to your hard drive. Then decompress the zip file and you'll have all six months of show closes.
