RE: [vpFREE] Scot Krause's LVA Players Club Bonus Points Update - 10 MAY 2016

Wow. It was given to me as an "open to the public" promotion.

Another disgraceful act by a casino

The Orleans announced they were offering 13X points today (even proudly
printed it on their buffet place mats), then decided to honor the offer
only to those who received it

by mail.

Didn't even have the courtesy to announce the change

Re: [vpFREE] Kiosk Games

While I cannot say that I know for a fact that the Gold Coast kiosk games are based on your gambling results at their casino, I have fairly strong evidence that it is true.

In late January of 2016 I requested my win/loss statement from Gold Coast (GC). I was very surprised to see that this statement showed a substantial 5-figure loss amount. I doubt that I played more than 5K in action at the GC in early 2015. In Feb and March of 2016, GC had promotions where the player earns 10 points and then gets a kiosk swipe. I played those promotions for my and my spouse's cards. I twice received swipes for 400,000 points, one for 100,000 and one for 50,000 plus some smaller ones. My wife received 2,000 points for every swipe.

I gave GC no play and the value of the swipes tapered off until I was only getting slightly better results than my spouse.

One sample is not overwhelming evidence. I believe the odds against getting such phenomenal swipes, and the pattern of declining value certainly makes my conclusion seem probable.

The harder I work, the luckier I am!
It's bad luck to be superstitious.

As a rule of thumb, if the game doesn't show what you would have got if you had picked another symbol then the game is probably not random. On the other hand it could be random in the same way that a slot machine is random with the better prizes coming up much less often.

Does anyone know if these kiosk games are under Gaming Control Board

Re: [vpFREE] South Point Warning

As much as I hate to disagree with Mr. Dancer there are a number of casinos where I play that have better games than the South Point and they also have better comps and equivalent cash back, and far superior mail offers, speaking strictly as an out of towner of course. As I've stated before I agree with the statement that their overall average payback is highest, but for out of towners their benefits are well below average.

Therefore to state looser overall, is an accurate statement, but that was not what was said in the original article.

A.P.

Speaking of loose video poker, does South Point have 8-5 Super Aces or 15-11 Deuces? I don't think so, so there goes the "loosest video poker" claim.

Okay. It comes down to definition. Yes there are casinos with a few higher paying games. There are some 100% games in town --- where you basically get no benefits if you play them.

I believe that the average hold on video poker games is lower at South Point than anywhere else. I believe the combination of game return + slot club + promotions + mailer is very competitive there. If you're a single line quarter player who plays FPDW with extremely few benefits, you can do better elsewhere. For many other players, South Point is better.

Can you find good deals elsewhere as well? Of course. No casino can possibly afford to be loosest in every single category. They have to make their money somewhere. But just because you can find a casino with a few looser games (and a whole lot of tighter games) doesn't shake me from my conviction that the South Point is looser overall than other casinos.

Bob
