I checked all denoms of a bank of 4 uprights that I know used to have NSU, because I played on it once or twice - the west side (ie facing the table games) of a bank perpendicular to the registration desk. Perhaps these are the 4 that went "bye-bye" in the latest purge, as you put it.

I was not aware of an additional bank of 4 perpendicular to that one, which must mean parallel to the registration desk. Apologies if they are still there.

There used to be eight of those in two banks perpendicular to each other near hotel registration - four on one side of each bank. Four went bye-bye a couple of weeks ago during their latest purge. I saw the other four as recently as yesterday afternoon. I will check again in a few days. As you probably know, they have 25c games on them with lower paytables so be sure to look at the 50c and $1 games.

It's kind of sad the Boyd folks decided that they needed to downgrade all the "Pick-a-Pair" machines...although, as those things go, it could be worse- I recall it's only the 3 of a kinds that are reduced.  (As opposed to a lot of the short-pay machines around where the 3 of a kinds and straights are reduced.) 

As a side note, the Fremont now charges a resort fee, but if you book a room with one of your monthly offers, it's waived.

[vpFREE] Eastside/North Cannery

 

Following the lead of Stations and other
Boyd properties, both Cannery locations have 2 banks of "up to 99.8%" machines:

Eastside Cannery - the 2 "up to 99.8%" banks were reported before I got to it. I tested one of the (6) slant tops in front of cashier near Snaps and it was $4/pt. I did not even see the other bank of (3) when I was there.

North Cannery - also has 2 banks of "up to 99.8%" slant top machines, but the one I tested was the normal $2/pt. One bank is across from Vinos to the right of the non-smoking room. The other bank is in front of cashier. I believe each bank of slant tops has (4) machines.
