[vpFREE] How are you?
[vpFREE] Re: Caesars Windsor
Hi Tom, Dave (and Jeannie) here. We met briefly at a cruise casino reception a few years ago. We live outside of Detroit so Caesars Windsor is designated as our home casino even though we play more in Vegas. I won't repeat what the other person said, other than to emphasize their new diamond lounge is the best we have seen anywhere in the country. Seven Stars also have a special menu in there. Contact Rod Lynds who is a great Seven Star level host (and mine the past year or so) (519) 258-7878 Ext 25886. If you can't get him George Zawany is nice and would take care of you.
Have him make you reservations in advance for Nero's steak house if you will be there on a weekend or concert night. It is very good. In the past year they have also added a spa so you can use that for some of your $500 trip portfolio. The biggest attraction for us is the lack of smoke (the 3 downtown Detroit casino's are VERY smoky) and lack of any recording/reporting of jackpots since as a Michigan resident all W2g's are taxed with no deductions allowed. Most wins no matter how large just print out on your TITO. For some reason a few (like Royal's) are really large wins still require someone to pay you off in person. It's business has dropped to about 25% of what it was 10+ years ago before Michigan and now Ohio opened their own casino's and before Canada passed the no smoking law, so they are not very busy anymore except on show nights. They have also shaken up top management and hosts the past two years, the results of which are yet to be seen.
The best VP would be at the Detroit Greek Town casino across the river in Detroit. There is also a new Hollywood casino in Toledo Ohio about 30 minutes south.
The do have a big concert series (like Cherokee), in fact we are at our second home in Vegas in May and CW is using our last 2013 June expiration trip to fly us back for the Reba concert and then back to Vegas a day or so later. If you are Seven Star, they will have the airport sedan service pick you up at Detroit Metro airport and take you back at the end of your stay.
Dave
