Where do you live, Kelso? That's probably part of the equation. Players whose regular casino was in AC didn't get such big offers for that event. Bob

[vpFREE] Las Vegas Seven Stars Event
My June Atlantic City Seven Stars event offer had
$1000 transportation
$500 free play
$150 food comp
$300 shopping with chance to earn more
My September Las Vegas event offer is
$700 free play
(My play level has not changed.)
Did everyone get cut or is mine just low for some reason?

Are Bob Dancer's classes for video poker going to be held at Sam's Town from now on? My home base for classes is the South Point, where I do two 10-week semesters a year. Michael Gaughan doesn't want more than two semesters annually. My next semester will begin September 18 and last through November 20. I'll post a schedule here when we get closer. This is the second year I've taught a 6-week semester at Sam's Town. I don't know if I'll be back there next year or not. Bob

[vpFREE] Re: Multiple progressive machines
I think we are in agreement. As Tom pointed out, my original statement was not completely defined. I should have said: if you play till the progressive is hit, AND all or most of the other machines are also being played simultaneously in a similar manner, no slow playing, then you can count the full meter progression rate in your EV, otherwise you are likely only getting a fraction of the rate, for example if you pump it up alone and a team comes in later at a higher number to snap it off.

And as you said previously this assumes everyone plays about the same rate with about the same strategy, which might or might not be the case. Some players might be slow playing or siting at a machine reading a book waiting for a higher number, and so on.

[vpFREE] Re: Question About Staying at Stations.
Every Stations casino is slightly different in their comp policy(leniency)Your host did tell you the truth about a separate comp account, Ive seen the screen. Its host only access and is a bank of earned comps based on total play for a given period(monthly, quarterly.) Some stations are moving away from using this account and are forcing you to use points first and then they will see "what they can do for you." At one time you could you could pretty much get everything comped, if you had decent play, and not touch your point balance. Some hosts now have a "points only" attitude for comps. Playing only positive VP will surely kill your comp balance at the Stations. I mostly play the 99.8% and full pay machines and my mailers and comps are crap. Before the new policies went into effect it was no problem to get a $150 dinner comp. Now its just a waste of time arguing with them. On the other hand if you're still a big loser on these machines they will cut you some slack.

Vegas rates are VERY low if you are patient and shop around. I have a weekly rental starting this coming Friday Aug 3 for $54 plus taxes.....total $102 via Alamo using codes found on the Las Vegas Advisor message boards!
The last three trips I've actually used price line and have never paid more that $85 TOTAL for my 5 day rentals.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, however, now I'm caught in between, as I asked my host about a "comp" bank and she said it does indeed exist. Re: [vpFREE] Re: Question About Staying at Stations.
There are two separate banks. You can easily
access the one for points through the ATM style
machines and get cash back, etc.
The other bank contains recognition/tier points.
You can access this one also, but the ATM
machines have no printers so you can't print
restaurant comps. You can go to the booth and
they can print comps from this account, but you
have to name the amount you want for what restaurant.
The method the hosts like you to use is to just
sign everything to your room. The host reviews it
while you are checking out or after you check
out. Whatever the host doesn't comp, (say room
service tips), gets charged to your credit card.
You could get screwed doing this if the host
doesn't know you and is miserly with comps. I had
this happen to me at Green Valley Ranch once and
was not comped much at all despite my level of
play. I haven't been back. Red Rock is my
favorite place to play and I never had a problem with comps there.
