Misscraps complained about not being told that her 7 Star status entitled her to some spa benefits. Casino employees --- whether hosts, spa employees, dealers, booth workers, etc. --- respond to such things as politeness, good manners, and appropriate tips. If you treat people well, they will go out of their way to see you get every last benefit you deserve --- and then some. If you treat people badly, it's easy for them to "forget" to tell you about something that would be your interest to know. Some people have nice things done to them all of the time. Some people get the short end of the stick much of the time. It's usually not random as to who is treated well and who is treated badly. When things don't go your way, I encourage you to examine your own behavior to see if you can figure out why it happened. Once you look at it from that angle, you usually can figure out the reason why something bad happened to you. And possibly you can change your behavior so it doesn't happen to you again. If you regularly take the attitude of "those SOBs screwed me over again," you'll probably find the bad things continuing to happen to you in the future. It will look to you like people have it in for you --- when in actuality you're bringing it on yourself. I certainly wasn't in the women's spa when Misscraps experienced her incident. I have no idea what she did or didn't do (if anything) to trigger this. My response here is more about these types of things in general rather than her case in particular. Bob

[vpFREE] Re: Bad hosts in AC do it again....
--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, Misscraps <misscraps@..Last night found out from a friend that Caesars Atlantic City (maybe other AC casinos too) give 7* members $100 spa credit once a quarter, services or product. Also some sort of once a year special spa comp, maybe $400 or more (not sure on that). No one told us! I was just at spa earlier in day and used up comps.
>
> Why didn't spa mention it? (yep told them I was 7*). Worse, my host (hosts on several visits!) didn't mention anything. >

What difference does it make ? All I read about are these numerous screw ups, cut backs, in many cases poorly run affairs and still many board members continue to patronize even to the tune of 7*. Why do you do this ? And why wouldn't they continue this policy if many customers still play in their casinos ?
A few years ago, in discussing the leaner economic times with a suit at the Borg, he said to me "..what we know we will always have is a group of players who will come to us no matter what we cut back on..this is the group we will get our money from.."
Congrats to all the Czr.Ent. players who also fall into this group !!

Hi Gang:
"Sometimes, money just seems to fall out of the sky and drop into your lap
when you least expect it. And when it happens to you in a casino … when
things are not exactly going as well as you had hoped … the windfall is even
more welcome and appreciated."
For those interested, my latest trip report about the Seven Stars
Signature Event last weekend in Atlantic City is now available on my web site

[vpFREE] Re: Station Casinos' Next Bonus Point Day
I, too got "nomailed" by Stations, apparently for winning too much on $1
8/5 bonus progressives at Red Rock (back when it had a reasonably fast
meter and often wandered into the $5000+ range).
But take heart. After ignoring them for a year or so, I played a little at
GVR, and good mailers reappeared.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Wi-Fi Downtown
I have 2 apps on my iPhone. They were free and work very well. They use the GPS location service to locate free WiFi in your immediate area. Many McDonalds have them and you can just park in the parking lot and use your laptop/phone in your car.

When I'm in a place with no internet connection I use an app called EasyTether
by Mobile Stream on my android phone. I have an unlimited data plan so I'm not
sure if this would be a solution if you have limited plan.

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 19 JUN 2012
LVA Question of the Day - 19 JUN 2012
Q: Forbes just posted its "Most Dangerous Cities" list,
which is based on 2010 crime data for murder, violent crime,
theft, and carjacking in a metropolitan area. I live just
outside of the Detroit area, which not surprisingly is #1
with the most murders per capita of any U.S. city; but
surprisingly, Las Vegas comes in at #9 on this list. What do
you make of this and what's your take on it? We have been
visiting the Strip and downtown for 10 years and, except for
one incident, we have never had any problems. (I was
assaulted--choked--on a bus by a drunk several years ago. It
happened during the daytime rush hour on an extremely
overcrowded "Deuce" bus. The drunk thought I was talking
about him and staring at him--I wasn't.)

Re: [vpFREE] Wi-Fi Downtown
Not too far from the Four Queens is the Beat Coffeeshop, at the corner of Fremont & 6th Street (next to the El Cortez). Good coffee, colorful scenery, hippy dippy art galleries, vinyl records, and free internet. Ask the clerk for the secret code to connect.
