MLife/MGM can be very decent with cross-property offers in LV -- with one important caveat (theo).
You need a decent theo to garner comp offers to other MGM properties where you don't have established play. Odds are, those "best VP plays" you note have very weak theos assigned to them.
My experience, having recorded stays at MGM and Bellagio, with $60k+ one-day coin-in playing 9/6 JB or 8/5 BP, is that my online offers are casino rate. I receive comped room offers for MGM, but not Bellagio.

The reason I ask this is due to my desire to stay on the strip, but not at a dumpy property. It appears the best VP plays on strip are at the Excalibur, Luxor and Circus Circus.
