LVA Question of the Day - 8 MAR 2011
Q: I'm hoping you can clarify something for me. I am a big
fan of Las Vegas documentaries. Two of the documentaries
I've seen seem to conflict each other. One claims that
baccarat didn't come to Las Vegas until Frank Sinatra
brought it to the Sands in the early 1960s. Another shows
early songstress Rose Marie claiming that Bugsy Siegel once
gave her $10,000 to play baccart at the Flamingo. How could
Rose Marie have been playing baccarat in 1946 if it wasn't
introduced for another 15 years? Any insight on this? When
(and who) first brought baccarat to Las Vegas?
