Today I play my usual 10-hand 25C game(slitely less than 100% EV), primarily to get max entries for slot tourn. About 7 hands in, I get dealt 4oak so I'm shortly $600 up w/ nowhere near max entries so ON I GO. By the time I get the points I need, I'm up about $200 so I go play the tourn(lousily I mite add). I was gonna leave, but I'm close to enuff points for the valuable monthly gift(a piece of painted cement(which my house if full of BTW). In goes the $200, plus another $300...CRAP - shudda left.
When I went back I go to different machine, but then think...That dam machine has been throwing me 4-2-royal, on 1 or 2 hold for the hour or so that I played it, & altho I know better, I decided to go back to original machine. So I get "nothing-to-hold"(been doin that a lot lately). The draw button brings one pair of aces in positions 1 - 9, & lo & behold, position 10 throws out my 1st in 11 years of VP a lovely spade ROYAL. Knock 1 thing offa my VP - Bucket list. One thing remains...altho I play 90 - 95% here at home & almost entirely 10 hand, I've yet to have a dealt royal here & never on multi play & I play quite a bit. I've gotten 3 @ 4Q & 1 @ Hard Rock
One more thing worth mentioning...Mid Oct, 4Q had a VIP special weekend with mostly VP folks there (I think) . Double points on weekend up to $500 in FP. I was there & luckily got a $1 Royal which let me come home with a decent profit. One lady got 3 $1 royals about 20 minutes apart...all same machine, all clubs. I know of at least 7 $1 royals & I'm sure there were several more. The $1 DB machines were just about impossible to get on, as most were held by a few folks teaming up. It was a great deal, but I really doubt they saw a positive outcome & doubt they'll do it again(Altho I sure hope so...I know I'll be back again if offered).
Far as I'm concerned 4Q is rite near the top for places-to-play for low-level(25C to $1). Certainly not fancy, but they've treated me very well over the years. We'll see now that they've changed their comp system slightly.
