[vpFREE] Re: Reel Rewards

No first hand experience here, but I believe I remember someone telling me a few months ago that indeed Rio is restrictive on the vp that Rewards coupons can be played through. There should be someone who can comment on that fact more intelligently.

My reason for replying is to point out that even if only 96% EV vp is eligible, it doesn't diminish the value of the offer much, so long as you're content to play through the coupon once and cash it out.

Even taking, say, a 3% shave on machine return, in playing $500 through just once you only reduce your expected result by $15. (Of course, there's the issue of whether there's anything at Rio on which you want to play cash through after cashing out, but that's a separate issue.)

As with any Free Play, you can reduce your exposure to loss by keeping the denomination played modest, and sticking to lower variance games (such as Jacks vs. DDB, where ER is a near wash).

If you're forced to play it through on slots, then things become dicier ... but I believe I was told some vp options are available for Rewards play at Rio.

She couldn't specify past that, just said some players had told her some VP machines take them. Does anyone here have any experience getting VP machines to take Reel Rewards at The Rio? private email is fine if you don't want o post it to the board.
