Spirit has no customer service. If you are lucky to get someone on the phone, it will be someone in India. They only know two phrases: 1) Sorry about that. 2) There is nothing we can do. Their president is proud of the fact that the airline generated the largest percentage of complaints among US carriers. If Spirit cancels your flight a few hours prior to take off, they will refund your ticket price within 10 days, give you $50 future travel certificate and let you figure out on your own how to get home, pay for day or two of extra lodging, expenses and so on. If you try to change your itinerary, they will be glad to charge you $150, which is typically more than the cost of the ticket.
There is always price to pay for being cheap. Our cost was about $700 to buy same day tickets from another airline and arrive 10 hours later than we originally planned. Just want everyone to be aware.
