[vpFREE] Re: How Important Is The Bottom Line ?

Hi again Grump

As you know for me; CASH IS KING!!!

However, I don't want to stay in a rat trap. I can see a really good
advantage to Harrahs marketing strategay. Cross marketing their
properties and training the players to look for the comps across the
country is a slam dunk, in my opinion. So the gamblers in AC can use
comp points in Tahoe to get comp rooms and food saving $$ and
getting a free stay at a destination vacation resort. So I would
guess that the majority of the folks want ambiance. Also, second
would be comp points in order to get free rooms. I don't think most
of the players have a clue about game inventory as most are slot
players. It seems to work for Harrahs, but I don't know for sure.

For me I like to base out of one casino. We usually travel for 7 -
10 days. It's interesting to me how going to the same casino
frequently is like going to home away from home. When I stayed
Mirage frequently I remember the smell of the water when decending
the escalater from parking. I knew I was home. Mirage had 9/6 JOB
in flat tops and that 3 line western game with .6%CB. When home was
LVH, walking into the sports book and the sounds of the book
signaled home. Ambiance was nice in both. In the 90s it was
Frontier. The ambiance was ok. But after staying for years it was
home. It even had a smell; not necessarly bad in 90s. Sorta like a
hotel smell. When you entered you were home. The CB was zero but
comps were good and I liked the progressives. You could secure the
comp rooms with about an hour of dollar play. You could also cash
comp points for silver dollars at the gift shop. So comp points
could actually produce some cash.

For me, ambiance counts but cash, promos and coupons are king.

Cheers...Jeep
