If you have been to Ellis Island lately, you may have noticed that
they have set many of the machine screens to show Ellis Island
advertisement material, instead of the game screen, until you touch the
screen to start playing. Well now they have gone one step further on
the back row of video poker machines in the sportbook. They have
installed a TV option which you activate on the screen by touching the
Ellis Island logo. You can select the TV size, position on the screen,
channel, and volume. I was playing during the night so most of the
channels were infomercials but I think they are probably all sports and
racing channels like what you see on the sportbook monitors. There is
a plug-in for earphones but I did not ask about availability. You can
position the TV over the the paytable area so it does not interfer with
play. You can not make the TV full screen from my experiment. These
are the old IGT slanttop machines that used to be over against the
front wall.
