You can palpate a tumor or a prostate, but not a hypothesis. If you could, your words might mean a falsehood that could be felt by squeezing. (Hopefully, it would not ooze.)

Perhaps you meant to say "patently" ( openly, plainly or clearly).

I've always felt that those who can't be bothered to check their grammar likely can't be bothered to check their facts.

Of course it's palpable I'm wrong.
