[vpFREE] Re: M Progressives--By The Numbers

OK, I have now had time to go over Nudge's work. He has saved us all a huge amount of time and work and for this I hope everyone that uses his published info will send him a nice thank you.

The return amounts he has listed for each game are correct playing a progressive strategy for the amounts listed, but do not include the card cash-back, and the value of the meter progression that accrues while you play.

I would recommend the following values be added to the base return amounts Nudge stated and then you should have the whole picture.

Card Cash-back = .3%
Meter-Rise on active meter = .5% (if you intend to get down and stay down until the meter hits.)

Meter Rise on active meter = .1% (if you intend to play a short while and then leave, even if the JP is still up.)

Monthly Mailer = .2% (if applicable)

Totals:
Playing straight through until a meter hits = add 1%
Playing in short secessions = add .6%

A word on strategy:
Because of the card cash-back, the value of playing a progressive strategy is actually counteracted. As you shorten your RF cycle you diminish the amount of total cash-back you'll get per Royal.

The two dynamics don't completely negate each other, but they do make playing a hyper accurate progressive strategy far less of an issue. Nudge's breakpoints are super nice to know, but don't feel you have to know them to play.

The difference is as little as 3%...and by this I mean that if you would be expected to make $100 playing perfectly, you'd be expecting to make $97 ignoring the breakpoints. It's not 3% of the total action, it's 3% of the win (or overlay) that you be sacrificing. So if you were playing with a 2% edge ignoring breakpoints would cost you 3% of 2%, or .06% (that's six hundredths of a percent)...don't sweat it.

Don't forget to thank Nudge for the heavy lifting.
