very good comment 007. In answer to your flush attack comment: if you find a single flush attack machine with flush attack lit get on the machine and play till you hit a flush and then leave. The strategy you should use to maximize your ev for the play is the strategy that sets the flush payment for the amount that makes the expectation for that machine at 0. This maximizes your expectation for that play (until you hit a flush), rather than max ev per hand (you hit the flush too fast and the play is over). Notice there are 2 important factors: you are guaranteed to hit the flush (a flush is easy to hit, about 90 hands or so) and no one else can hit. If you're playing a bank of flush attack with other people playing I would suggest max ev per hand is best. If you're playing a single machine progressive with the progressive very difficult to hit (progressive on Royal Flush for instance) and you know there is an excellent chance you would have to leave before you hit I would suggest max ev per hand. What I said in general is still true - try to maximize your expectation for the play.
