I used to be a Harrah's Diamond member but stopped playing there when they trashed the VP and let everything else go downhill. For the past few years when I've stayed on the Strip I've gone to Venetian/Palazzo where I've either gotten comped rooms or decent deals ($129 a night plus food/show/slot credits). But the rumors of their eliminating comps other than to the high-rollers seem to be true. When I asked about rooms for June, I was quoted the same rate I could get thru any site online. And they said to be comped, it would take 4-6 hours of $2 VP or $250 average bet at the tables. If they had decent VP I might be able handle that, but not with the games they offer.
I'll see if I get an e-mail offer for June, but otherwise we'll be shopping around for the Strip part of our visit. Any ideas on other places on the Strip? I remember Wynn being very tight. What about the MGM properties these days?
