Went ot Vegas 3/26 thru 3/30 stayed at the Rio. Arrived late Saturday night and checked into room and did not get the Strip view as was promised by my host. This is not that improtant to me but the Mrs. likes that view and does not gamble as much as I do and I want her to be satisfied. I went down the next morning to the VIP check in and they moved us to a strip view room around 1 p.m. on Sunday; all is good.
Upon arriving Saturday night, I wanted a couple beers so I went down to a bar with VP and started playing 25 cents, single line DDB. As everyone knows this is a Harrah's property and the VP is poor and worse at the bars; I think it was 8/5. Before I knew it I had put 6 bengies into the machine and thinking to myself how expensive these beers were. Shortly therafter I hit a Royal for 1K, ending the night up about $400.
Sunday we spent walking around on the strip, visited the Wynn for the 1st time and we were really impressed with the hotel and property. We had dinner that evening at Outback and was not as good as the Outback we have at home, I would just give it a C. After dinner we went to see Humane Nature based on reading good reviews about the show on this site. We were both really impressed with this show, these guys can really sing and they get everyone involved and even dancing to the music. If you have not seen them make a point to see the show next time you are in town.
Monday my wife had a convention to attend and I was looking forward to going to the Palms to play the full pay VP. I played everything from 25 cent dueces, 10/7 DB,
$1.00 JOB and BP. I played from around noon to 7 pm and was unable to hit anything signifcant. I went back to the Rio and played some cash 1/2 no limit and won about $300.00.
Tuesday, I went to the Venitian and played in a $120 poker tournament; I got there at 12:30 and was out of the game by 1:15. I was getting killed by 2nd best hands and went all in on a flush draw and lost. Oh well....
Went back to the RIO and started to play 25 cent 3 play, DDB, it was a 9/5 game; I played a couple hours and hit another royal for 1K. Yea.....
Wednesday, leaving today but thought I would revisit the 3 play, DDB again.. I played for about 3 hours and hit another 1K Royal. I played other things along the way like, Let it Ride with 3 card Poker, Texas Holdem table game; another poker tournament at the Rio.
We only get to Vegas one time a year and I like to play more than Video Poker.
This was the 1st trip that I brought back some of their money, it is usually the other way around.
