Harrah's may have crappy Video poker, but for VERY limited play you get free rooms... LOTS of them. Might be worth it. If you are willing to pay over $100 a night, for a room, you could play a little at Harrahs, lose less than the price of that "free" room. Of course there is always the possibility you could get lucky at 7/5 bonus poker. It has been known to happen.
There are Harrah's all over the country, and one in Canada. THe VP is bad, but the rooms are great!

For the past few years when I've stayed on the Strip I've gone to Venetian/Palazzo where I've either gotten comped rooms or decent deals ($129 a night plus food/show/slot credits). But the rumors of their eliminating comps other than to the high-rollers seem to be true. When I asked about rooms for June, I was quoted the same rate I could get thru any site online. And they said to be comped, it would take 4-6 hours of $2 VP or $250 average bet at the tables. If they had decent VP I might be able handle that, but not with the games they offer.
