I've had this pleasant experience a few times over 25+ years of
playing.
The two most recent first deal royals happened at downtown casinos.
The first was at the El Cortez, after sitting down between two
elderly gentleman. They took great pains to try warn me not to play
the machine, "because one of them had just hit a royal on it". My
response was, "Then it must be a lucky machine!" {(O: Their mouths
dropped open when I drew to RF4 and bought the 5th card, on my first
$1.25!
The second occurred at the Golden Nugget. I had been playing
awhile, doing fairly well, then hit a royal, and continued to play
on the same machine for some time. When the credits descended to
4000, the amount of the royal payoff, I cashed out, put the ticket
in my wallet, and sat down at the next machine on the bank. After
inserting a $20 bill, I watched incredulously as the cards appeared
on the screen, displaying a DEALT royal! That was quite a happy
morning!
