Re: [vpFREE] Today’s trip to Vegas casino...and thoughts...

There was reportedly a CDC protocol, created when the H1N1 virus was spreading (or soon thereafter) for addressing situations in the future, such as we are now certainly dealing with.  With China starting out by hiding / downplaying its own experience, one could probably legitimately argue either side of the promptness of the response, since the available information was (and to some extent still is) limited, and changing, so that it was probably difficult to know whether the H1N1 protocol should be launched, or when.

I've personally gone from concern about over-reaction to the opposite in the course of a week or so, as things are progressing so rapidly.  My weekly home game poker group voted 8 to 1 to continue playing just a week ago, but today decided to cancel our game until further notice, with no one objecting.

Regardless, I hope everyone takes care of themselves and no one gets sick.  As discussed earlier, the flu remains a more likely risk, and because of the very large number of people it affects, even with much lower mortality, it will likely kill more people than COVID 19.  The precautions being recommended for Coronavirus (and I still don't know how my beer of choice got blamed for this) are also protective against the flu, so we may have some benefit on that disease, regardless.

Sheesh, some say here that the gov is under-reacting, and others say the gov is over-reacting.
Let's please leave our own political opinions out of this group.

I have a twice a year trip planned to Vegas in early April, we were planning half of it at Bellagio to see Jerry Sienfield, but the B is closing for now.

The trip is really up in the air on if we decide to go or not (I'm 55, wife is 49).

I go for poker (Texas hold'em) and make points playing VP.

Thanks, Tim
