[vpFREE] Re: Tipping Casino Hosts

Well they do need to give away more show tickets and who tips is a good a way as any to decide. Someone who tips the host is going to tip the barmen, housekeeping and at the restaurant. They are more likely to eat a meal onsite vs eating cheese sandwiches and hard boild eggs squirrelled away in their purse.

Why show tickets? Some people actually do pay full price and there is nothing worse than sitting in a half empty room when you have. Losing an active player for the length of a show does cost money but I think you may gain more loyalty, especially with couples and even more so when only one person in the household gambles.

Any smert manager realizes if his people are tipped he can pay them less as long as they are not giving up the store.

Usually how it works is that a host will pick out a high denomination video poker player and tell them that they can get them into an event. During the event the host will hover over the player, kind of like a slot attendant after making a hand pay. No matter how much action the player gives the casino during the event, there will be no similar future offers unless the player shows their appreciation with a bribe, I mean tip. I won't do it myself because it feels too dirty, but I guess the hosts are taking the biggest risk with their jobs.

I've never seen one open their wallet and tip the customer after coming in, losing thousands, and helping to keep their job secure.
