RE: [vpFREE] Re: Check out DailyTech - Man May be Sent to Prison for Exploiting F

I agree that this approaches theft but I also look at it another way in that the casinos many times encourage this.

Such as you get a point multiplier at Harrahs/Caesars. You play all day at a slightly higher denomination than usual to rack up the points. Even though you have been monitoring the card reader for point accumulation, your host stops to talk with you and confirms that you have been sitting at that machine all day, when you finish playing and check your points balance about an hour later, you discover that none of your play has been recorded. (Fortunately, you have kept detailed records of points earned.)

It takes over a month of NUMEROUS emails and telephone calls to get the full amount of points that you earned and multiplier added to your account. Harrahs/Caesars does everything they can to not give you full credit for your play. I think they believe that if they drag out it out for forever that you are so dumb that you will forget about it and just move on.

Would the police get involved and prosecute Harrahs/Caesars for fraud and failure to post the points to your account? (And now that points can be easily converted to a cash equivalent, they are basically cash; we are just not talking about comps.) Would Harrahs/Caesars be threatened with jail?
