I wanted to share my own attempt to do some fast in-head evaluations of a gaming related random event...OK I'll spare you (myself) all the details...I failed...badly.
I have adopted this philosophy for myself pertaining randomness:
Doubt all that I suspect, and dismiss all of which I'm sure.
Since I no longer try, my failure rate has gone down sharply.

Hay consider this: if you only use math for these kinds of decisions, then the only way you can be wrong, is if you get the equations incorrect. What an awesome way to dodge personal responsibility.
