My wife and I just returned from Vegas where we stayed at RIO and Mandalay Bay. We had not been to Vegas since January and this was our first trip to Vegas on our "Royal Flush Tour". Normally I am a blackjack player but my wife and I took a great interest in video poker about 6 months ago and have been practicing ever since. We decided to start with $1 single line 9/6 Jacks or Better (per Jean's awesome book) and plan to play it exclusively until we hit a royal flush.
So we had a lot of fun using vpFree2.com on my cell phone and locating the VERY few machines available on the strip. We were both very thankful for this website and extremely happy to know it was up to date everywhere we went. I don't know how people played video poker in the past without this site! :)
NYNY - Still has 9/6 FP JOB but you can not put a players card into the machine. The website said "no comps" but we did not know exactly what that meant but as soon as we sat down at the machines we realized. :)
MGM - We found 2 out of the 4 machines available in the high limit room!
Gold Coast - We fell in love with this place due to their numerous machines. Yes we realize that 9/6 is still a losing game but we're just getting into video poker so right now that's all we care about. :) It was very nice to sit down and play right at a bar...not to mention have bar tenders who immediately serve you a free drink. (most other places these days seem to want to charge us first and then give us free ones once they see we're actually playing...and playing a lot). My friend didn't care for the "Ben Gay" vibe of the casino but my wife/I did not mind the older crowd at all. I'd much rather be in a place with easy going older folks rather than drunk idiots of our age.
Anyway, I decided I would finally start my website where I am putting my own personal reviews and fun gambling advice. I know there are 40 million sites out there all ready but my friends constantly ask me so from now on I have a place to refer them.
