Subject: [vpFREE] 10/7 Double Bonus Question
I know you break a pay pair for KQJ suited and QJT suited.
Also know that you hold four to a flush with any other three
to a royal, but was told recently that you break a pay pair for
a four flush with three high cards. Example AQJ6 suited with a J.
Can this be right? Why? What about AQJ6 suited with an A?
Aparently some of the avaliable software says this is correct.
------------------------------------
If you're looking to be completely correct, your first sentence should
state: break a non-ace pay pair for KQJ suited and QJT suited. You would
also break a non-ace hi pair and dump the four flush and prefer the QJT
hold (only two high cards here), but not for the KQJ hold (three high cards
here). Combined equity of a possible flush fill and three hi cards for a
push pair on the draw will outrank the royal hold. What you were told on
non-ace high pairs is also correct if I understand your presentation of the
question. On all three card royals with three high cards and a fourth flush
card and non ace high pair, four flush is the proper hold. I will give you
the error costs on your two hands if you are playing 10-7 DB in dollars.
For the AQJ6 suited with paired J's, holding the J's is about a 27 cent
mistake and the 3-royal about 71 cents. In the AQJ6 hand with A's paired,
choosing the four flush over the bullets is about a $1.25 mistake and going
with the 3-royal here over the power of the A's will cost around $1.96. I
realize that some our members here might think that the cost of training
software is not in their budget, but I believe that both FVP and ViPoker are
available for free download online, so that you can do your own hand
comparisons at your leisure. I have used both of these programs and can
vouch for their accuracy.
