RW,
The NCL "Casino at Sea" Player Card will track all points on
all NCL ships. This tracked play will remain with your account.
You can transfer points earned on a previous cruise. Unfortunately, the system is not connected from ship to ship. The Slot Club
Manager needs to email any previous ship to get the amount
played on that ship. I thought that I had the same account
number. He announced this service at our Casino at Sea Welcome
Party on the first day.
I know this from experience. On my last cruise I had points transferred from three previous cruises. I simply went to him
and gave him my card and told him the ships. No dates travel
dates were required.
The gaming pay schedules are so bad that it took 4 cruises to
earn the minimum points. I found a 3/2 Video Blackjack game
that accounted for the majority of points. Live blackjack play
provided a very minimum of points for dollars played!
After 4 cruises, I had enough points for a credit. Unfortunately
I did not eat in one of the specialty restaurants, or take a
Ship sponsored shore excursion on my last cruise. I had no
ship charges to which they could credit my accumulated points.
You cannot use your point against your cruise ship gratuity
requirement! I did not ask to transfer points until the last
day. I did not think I had enough points to matter. It was too
late to use my credit. He was the first Casino Manager that
I recall making the offer to transfer points. Maybe in the
past I just never paid enough attention much to the points
system! Now you will know.
The amount was just over the minimum of 2,500 points ($25).
I was told the points will remain in my account for, I think,
6 months. Check on that period. It maybe 9 or 12 months.
They can be used on a future cruise if I charge a specialty restaurant or take a ship sponsored shore excursion in the
future. I believe they offer me a cash rate at a 50%. I probably should have taken that offer!
I took 4 free cruises in less than 15 months. I am 68 and was
never on a cruise in the first 67 years and then 4 in 18 months!
I even had 2 free cruises go unused! I do not know if I will do
a 5th NCL cruise. I might do the Hawaiian cruise, but probably
not before the points expire.

Is this something I need to ask about? I do get the "credit" applied to my acct at the end of the cruise -- Leaving Sunday on the Pearl Alaska. Thanks, RW.
