Theres are big differences between video poker pros and machine pros. There are big differences between machine pros and professional gamblers. Here's one of the differences:
Under the Gun + 3 open raises and makes it 5 big blinds to go. Everyone folds to you in the cutoff seat. You look down and find a pair of fives. What do you do? Well, take a look at the guys stack. If he only has something like 30 or 40 big blinds behind then muck the fives because you are not getting enough implied odds. But if he has a big stack behind then call. The general strategy is to flop a set or get out of the way for any action. UTG+3 is either an idiot or he has a big pair or something like AK, maybe AQ. Call to see if you can flop a set and stack him off.
I don't put all my eggs in one basket. But I have taken a little over $8100 off the machines on this trip.
