Gamblers don't retire. People from all over the country put their 40 or 50 years of work in then retire to Nevada so they can spend the rest of their lives gambling away every day. Check out all the old geezers in the poker games and all the little old ladies in the bingo parlors or out on the slot floor.

What am I supposed to do? Retire and go sit in a rocking chair? No thanks. That's crazy. There is no way in hell I will ever retire, except, when they shovel dirt on me. I've said this before but RETIRED will be a nice little epitaph on my tombstone.

Now, for insurance? I think I've made out like a bandit. I've never had any, except on some jobs years ago where it was provided. What does the stuff cost? A few thousand a year? Multiply that by about 40 years and I guess that is how much money I've saved. Now I know there is a first time for everything and maybe I'll have to break down and buy some of the stuff in the future. But I just turned 58 and the only times I've ever been to a doctor was to get stiched up after a bar room brawl. I've just never had a health problem. Yes, I know, that won't last forever.

Once an advantage gambler, always an advantage gambler. With insurance, the insurance companies are the advantage gamblers and the people who buy the stuff are the sucker bettors. The whole industry is based on fear. But they don't scare me.

Retirement funds? I guess that would be my bankroll. Except I ain't gonna retire. I don't hit the road because I'm low on money. I hit the road so I DON'T get low on money.

When I do kick the bucket I think I'm gonna have my bankroll buried with me. Whichever way I'm going there might be a play to put down. Of course, there will be a big concrete slab over my casket so some idiot can't dig me up and steal the loot.
