I have to admit this post disturbs me a little. It's obvious that you enjoy your role as vp guru, but I think you are getting a little carried away. Your comments seem to be based on several assumptions and definitely have an inappropriately dogmatic tone.
For one, you are assuming that he is trying to make a living on vp. There are a lot of people who are happy to play at a disadvantage for the entertainment value, but still want to play the best game available in that particular casino to make their money and fun last as long as possible. He could have been planning to play that day regardless and was happy to get to play a game with an advantage.
To point out that FPDW has a higher edge seems to assume that he can find a FPDW game in his area.
To outright say:
> And playing regular FPD is not worth anyone's time
as well as:
> ...hit a progressive you never should have been playing in the first place
and:

is obviously projecting your values and standards onto everyone else as an absolute truth.
Obviously your expertise is very welcome and well received on this board. But I think it would be even better received (by a larger audience) if you present it as advice and not indoctrination.
After all, I'm sure that back in the day when you were doing this full-time, you were doing plays that some other pros would have thought was a waste of their time and below their standards of hourly rate, but that didn't make it a waste of your time.

It's been a long time since my high schoool German classes, but I thought it was "bitte."
