[vpFREE] Re: Killing the Golden Deuce

This is obviously a very important reply, but I'm having trouble understanding your exact position. I posted against burning out plays with rule breaking. You seem to be in agreement that burning out plays is bad. Which would mean we agree. Therefore I'm having a hard time understating the tone of your post. Your comments in [[]]. My replies interspersed in <>.

[[THATS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!]]

FK <So you are saying you agree?

What I suggest is a friendly word in an abuser's ear, "Hay you know this promotion is good, if you abuse it and break their rules, it's just going to get it burned out and piss the casino off". Let them know, you know what they are doing, and let them know you aren't happy about it>

[[With all the dirty tricks employed by the pros. Frank IMHO guys like you have made VP what it is today. Your type find the plays and burn them down. The child like mentality of if I cant have it no one can!!!!]]

Here you lost me. If we converted this to a syllogism it would read:

Frank is recommending we avoid breaking the rules of promotions and burning out plays.

Therefore, Frank burns out plays.

I must be missing something. Could you clarify why you think, I have an "If I can't have it no one can mentality"? You are actually the first person in my life that has ever said that to me.

[[Maybe you have had a change of heart and, see where you were wrong doing it that way (others wont).]]

Doing what, what way. This seems to be an incomplete thought.

[[IMHO you have seen the writing on the wall ( a bit late dancer and jean have beaten you to the punch). Writing books of days past to make money now. So people can think that money still can be made from VP. Most of the good games are gone and, they are not coming back. How long till 6/5 BJ is the norm?]]

FK< Objection-conjecture: witness is speculating about someone else's motivation.

I wrote my book to be an entertaining and foremost funny recount of Vegas History, with a stress on psychology, sociology and useful life skills that I picked up as a gambler. I wrote the book for non-gamblers, to give them a window into what it was like to be a full time pro. It does contain some useful stuff on strategy creation and determining progressive return, but it's mostly entertainment and history. I put the word "history" in the title. I never say in the book that you can do what I did now, and I have never said that in text or on the radio. I have said exactly the opposite.

I did a radio show on the fact I thought the industry was dying:
Go to https://www.progressivevp.com/videos_and_podcasts.php
Click on: "First appearance as host December 18th" The topic was the future of gaming. Again I think we agree, you just didn't know we did.

Bob & I can still help people get more value for their dollar. I still know about 60 people that gamble for a living exclusively, but none of them make what they used to, and only keep doing it because they don't feel they can do anything else.

I think my book is well worth its cost in entertainment value, and the chapter on human misconceptions would have made a good book in and of itself. I'm not saying you can read it and go out and become a full time progressive player, I never did. I'm sorry if you got that impression. If I had to sum up my main reason for writing the book, it was to share my life and make people laugh.>

[[Vegas used to be a great place then the corporations moved in and, it became about the bottom line. Vegas might never be what it once was due to the fact that the service keeps getting worse games keep getting worse. Those of us that gamble are the only ones to blame. Got to love seeing someone hit a royal on a 6/5 machine as an exec.]]

FK<Well I think you are certainly correct there. Stupidity is encouraged and critical thought is discouraged. I was just talking to a friend of mine about the fact that I thought the removal of "Logic" from our children's curriculum was at the root of a lot of our sociological decay. Logic was mandatory and taught in 5th, 6th and 7th grades in the 18th century, now it is only a college elective.

One can only wonder why society has dropped, "thinking clearly" as a desired skill. Instead we bombard our children with talk on teen pregnancy, avoiding drugs, gangs, etc...Which are all symptoms of bad decision making. We are treating the symptoms not the cause.>

[[I have seen people make the dumbest plays. I dont think I need to give examples.I would love to ee the actual PB on a 9/6 job machine or any FP machine for that matter. I'd say the casino gets 5% more than they expect. Now I am sure someone will chime in and say over head blah blah blah. It is the sheep being led to the slaughter and it will only get worse]]

FK<Well I can answer that for some games: Average error rates on--

Jacks or Better = 2%
Deuces = 3%
2 Pair JKR = 8%

My info is 15 years old, but not conjecture. I had access to records.>

[[RANT OVER Thank you]]

FK<Well I hope it's not over, you've left me perplexed>
