[vpFREE] One Magical Weekend

Hi Gang:
Our original plan was to focus on family this past weekend at Harrah's AC
since Hedy's son and his wife were coming down for a nice, relaxing dinner
Saturday night followed by some salon treatments and breakfast Sunday
morning but, as they say, the best laid plans ...
We didn't expect to concentrate too much on our play but when Hedy and I
began to hit the DDB machines Friday evening strange things began to happen
... we couldn't lose!!
It started with Hedy nailing treys for $400, then a little while later she
held three aces and, bingo, the fourth ace and a beautiful little four
popped onto her screen for a 2G hand pay. I was rolling right along with a
number of $250 quads when I decided to bump up my play to the $2 level to see
what might happen. I nailed sevens for $500, then just a few hands later I
held three fours and got the fourth for $800. We had tickets to see the
Levon Helm Band at 8, and it was getting close to show time when I also was
dealt three aces. I held the three and, wouldn't you know it, there was the
fourth rocket and a trey for another 2G hand pay! Meanwhile, Hedy had nailed
fours and threes, both with kickers, for another $1600 and we cashed out to
go to the show with smiles from ear to ear.
The next day, we began cautiously after breakfast, not wanting to give
back our profits of the day before, but again the VP Gods were looking down on
us. Hedy hit ducks and treys for $400 each and, after a slow start, I
nailed the aces again (no kicker this time) for $800. After that, it was "Katie
bar the door!"
Hedy took a break to meet the kids at valet and I kept hitting quad after
quad for $250. I finally hit the inevitable cold streak, dropping close to
$600 of my bankroll, and I was seriously contemplating getting up and
moving to another machine. But I decided to stick it out.
I was playing quickly, hitting a full house now and then to keep me going,
when I hit the draw button and my screen lit up with A-A-A-A-2!! Aces and
a kicker DEALT for another 2G score!!
All I could think of was, "Wow, I'm sure glad we weren't going to
concentrate on playing too heavily this weekend!"
I kept the aces on the screen and moved to another machine so I could show
them to Hedy when she returned and to say she was flabbergasted when she
saw them would be an understatement.
I followed that up with another set of aces about an hour later for $800
but, believe it or not, the best was yet to come.
At about 6:30, just before our 7 o'clock dinner reservation in the
Steakhouse, I was dealt the 10-A-K of diamonds. I held the three royal cards and,
sure enough, up popped the Q-J of diamonds to complete the 4G royal!! As a
friend of ours likes to say, "Holy crap, Batman!"
This pushed our win for the weekend into five figures and was a really
"royal sendoff" into dinner.
After we ate, we played again for an hour or so and it was more of the
same as I was DEALT fours with a kicker for $800 and got treys at the $2 level
for another $800. Hedy chipped in with a couple of other $400 scores and
when all was said and done our bottom line turned out to be third biggest
win we've ever had in a casino.
We will be flying to Rincon Thursday for a Valentine's Weekend stay at the
Harrah's property there and if Hedy and I can keep the East Coast karma
going in California I will be one very happy Cupid and a wife with his arrow
threw her heart!
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy
