Last Year, we spent Two 4 night vacations in Blackhawk, CO.
We stayed with 2 Spa Suite Packages (equaling 4 nights).
The Spa - Stay Away from the Facial that uses homeopathic ingredients if you have sensitive skin ! I have pictures of the torment that my face underwent after my facial, that sort of placed a damper on this first trip. The manager received these pictures, via email thus, we received our 2nd 4 day vacation in the Deluxe Spa Suite. My skin healed up just fine, fortunately. The hot rocks massage (with large smooth creek rocks) is the best I've ever had.
I was sick with a bug on the 2nd trip but, it was actually nice to have our house keeper/personal assistant watch the dogs and house during both trips and get a break from the business and since, my little one (toy poodle), Chad is old and is as needy as a baby since he is blind and has diabetes. I haven't hired anyone here yet and possibly, will not until we buy our Condo, aside from maybe hiring someone for a specific task.
The Starbucks there has the one and only chocolate/raspberry brownie, that is SO good that I have been thinking of calling and asking about shipping some here. The Award winning Chef there has an agreement with Starbucks to serve these at their location.
The room - OMG! I could live in a Suite just like it (along with one addition, the large balcony). You can view it (deluxe spa suite) at the link that I will provide. The hot tub/bath has an attachment that you can wash your hair with and the spa is surrounded by windows that you can see out of but, no one can see in - A marvelous view.
The shower is the 'one' ! It has water coming out of any direction, along with a seat to sit down and shave or just chill. The vanity - ahh, Plenty of room for those like me that pack all aside from the kitchen sink. A nice wet bar/refrigerator/safe/bar stools and extra small bathroom in the living room area that is on one side of the center stacked stone fireplace - the other side is the bed/spa/bathroom area. Both sides of the fireplace have large screen T'V's. The large duo sink bathroom are has a TV as well. Sweet !
Okay, the bad news. The VP machines are not good. The Hotel is the best as far as amenities and accommodations.
Just a Sprint away is The Lodge Casino and there are very good VP machine's there says, Kenny. I did not play on either trip at length (maybe 20 minutes on the 1st trip only).
Therefore, you can stay in Ameristar's Luxury if that is your 'thing' and play at The Lodge, making for the complete package :-).

For the adventurous, there are plenty of outdoorsy things to do from Kayaking to Exploring the various Trails. The one thing that you really cannot do was pretty tough for me but, I made up for it when I got back home, Shopping and that was a definite downer for me. There are no stores there and in that open market, one could make a fortune in opening a nice Variety Boutique.
I would certainly stay there again and the next time, I would play too & still have to shop after.
OT:
Shopping TIP: CVS on Rainbow/Flamingo has those extremely soft robes (pink and white) on sale, the sign says $7.49 but, they ring up at $3.47 ? somewhere around there. Also, they have expensive perfume/cologne sets for men & women on sale for 1/2 off, if they were marked over $9.99. I purchased my white diamonds perfume with lotion and bath gel for a little less than $10, instead of $19.99...a steal and the pink robe, well, you could just melt in it :-) ! Several other things are on sale through out the store. If I had more time after dinner @ Ellis Isle, I would have came home with a lot more. Kenny is going to pick up more robes for gifts in the morning so, you better hurry ! They are Really the Quality of Macy's or better.
