care about is the amount of your wagers and the length of time spent
making those wagers. It's that simple. Of course, the more you lose,
the more the casinos will love you. If you meet these few basic
requirements, then all sorts of "nice offers" should come your way;
and not because you are of a particular ethnicity.

Whether Paladin phrased this correctly or not, he is exactly correct ---
at least some of the time.
Right or wrong, casinos use stereotypes the same as most of us do from
time to time. This group of people are this way --- that group of people
are that way. Asian players have been so profitable historically to
casinos that using this stereotype is very useful.
When I was a blackjack player in the early 1990s commuting to Vegas from
Los Angeles, my girlfriend at the time was a Taiwainese citizen. (If you
care, Shirley and I met in 1996 and married in late 1997.) We got
special offers from a Mr. Chu in the San Francisco area for the Las
Vegas Hilton and Flamingo Hilton that was not available to caucasians.
We would sign up twice each time --- once using Ginny's Taiwainese name
and her passport and the other using Ginny's Americanized name using her
California driver's license.
Years later at the MGM Grand, Asians who played in the high limit room
received a 10% discount on their markers --- which is HUGE. There were a
couple of players, every bit as strong as me, but who would get this
simply because their parents were Asian. These guys would take out a
$50,000 marker at the start of every trip --- play what they would ---
and three days later pay back $45,000 (with a check if they had to.)
They'd make two trips a month doing this and receive a casino bounty of
$120,000 a year just because of their heritage!
I have other examples as well, but these will do for now.
If you want to be politically correct and believe that all casinos are
always colorblind, go ahead, but you're living in an imaginary world.
If you want to say that for most lower stakes players (say $5 or lower)
this USUALLY doesn't matter, that's probably a correct thing to say. If
you say it NEVER matters, you're definitely incorrect.
