So what part of the service did you take offense? Was it the bartender's
manner and tone in requesting maximum play, or the rule of maximum play itself to
get comped? Max bet is a standard followed by most casinos. Some sort of
"active" play standard also is required.
The bartender delivered your drink, but did not ring it up yet. This happens
alot with me in a new bartop situation, where the bartender does not know me.
They take a couple of minutes to make sure I am an active player. Also, a
tip in the glass usually makes me an active player right away.
The only joints where I have seen explicit bartop signage for complimenaries
is in Laughlin. At Colorado Belle/Edgewater signs request a $10 buy-in and
actively playing 3-5 coins. Signs at the Harrahs-L basically request this same
standard.
One bartop play that goes against the SOP of max coins is the $1 8-coin max
progressives at the Pioneer. Here 1 coin is suffecient to get comped.
Mickey just attacked a bartender's radar with some countermeasures, an
unusual buy-in amount. TITO sure makes it alot easier to move-on nowadays in
stealth mode. Nothing worse than running a beer scam and then needing to call over
the tender for a hopper fill.
So, fellow players what bartops that you play go against the max coins rule?
