Of course, with all the gambling movies around, there are probably plenty where someone in the film is hiding their money, sometimes in some original way. Richard Dreyfuss does the shoe thing in "Let It Ride" -- one of my favorites of his many excellent films, in which he parlays his money in an amazing day at the track -- but the scenes, acting, and lines far surpass the story itself. He stows the cash in the men's room (in a stall), but takes his shoes off and shakes out the money for the cashier when he's ready to bet again.
For me, I probably can't get my shoes on with cash in them (although I did wear a Velcro ankle wallet for a few trips). I didn't mention money belts; I tried one of those for a while, and they work, although it's a pain to fold up the money to fit the belt, and you can't get that much into one.
As for Bob Dancer's remark about "imagination" -- aahh, my first direct hit from Bob, so my first chance to reply to him :) I'll simply say that his mind apparently goes places that mine does not, and those are apparently not places we are going to mention on the list :)

That reminds me of that watch scene from Pulp Fiction. Here it is if you don't remember it:
