There have been a few times I have run out by mid afternoon and others where I have only cashed the first days stash and was able to play on that for the entire week ( thanks to the video poker gods)
We always get dual signature so if one of us is losing they are responsible for making " the walk of shame" as the flusher so aptly named it
And leftovers go into the next trip
And we never broadcast that we have hit a royal if anyone asks how we are doing we a

That's while "in transit". Certainly, many of the other options listed are safer than carrying cash, but some people like to carry cash rather than go to the inconvenience of getting traveler's checks. Casino credit is great, but I've always been worried that I'd be tempted to over-use it (I don't even register a PIN for ATMs, and I don't carry a checkbook; so what I take with me in cash is all I can lose). If you have AAA, I think they may still offer traveler's checks with no fee they used to long ago). Banks usually charge a fee, another reason not to use traveler's checks.

After that, I learned to work with cash, although I guess you could easily say I should have learned just the opposite.

If I lose all that and I need to go back to the box to get more, it's probably time for a break anyway, and maybe time to call it a day. If I have a winning day, or a big winning session, as soon as I can get that money in the box, I do so. Of course, you need to remember to empty the box when you check out :)

Someone also once advised me to throw the money on the ground and then back away, so the thief can get the money without feeling threatened, and therefore will not feel compelled to assault you. If you do that, you might even be able to keep your wallet and credit cards, which is a decent "save". I'm assuming you're looking to get away safely as a priority over keeping your money.

And if you're gambling in another country, you've got a built-in loss on the currency transactions unless you cash a traveler's check in their currency and just lose all the money :)
