I thought the 100% games at Palms had card readers but just didn't earn points.

1.    On the classes, 3 of the 4 of them were going to be the 100% games. These games have no place for a player's card, and so the casino cannot track how much play the classes generate. Since they couldn't track whether the classes were effective or not in terms of bringing in additional players/play, Greenberg saw no reason to have the classes.
